This innovative design has been demonstrated over 300 person-times in a clinical study and well-adapted in monitoring patients under procedural sedation during different procedures such as UGI & LGI endoscopic exams, pediatric dental procedures, and plastic surgeries in Taiwan. By extracting features from the spectrogram, the AI algorithm backed by a pretty collection of auscultatory recordings can recognize and signal abnormal breathing sounds. This innovation can amplify breath sounds, identify abnormal respirations, calculate the rate, and send an alert to physicians when apnea occurs.
“Our dedicated noise-canceling technology eliminates the need for bulky apparatus, reducing the weight of the sensors to less than 5g. This device will be the first in the market that can work with AI to recognize lung activity and detect adventitious sounds,” asserts, Mr. Wu. It can calculate respiratory rate during inhalation, exhalation, airway obstruction, and partial airway obstruction and analyze status. The AI-powered respiratory sound continuous monitoring system accesses at the patient’s bedside and transmits data to conduct AI analysis.
Continuous respiratory monitoring with automated respiratory sound analysis at the bedside is an unmet clinical need. This smart healthcare solution aims to reduce the workload of nursing staff and increase the likelihood of the early diagnosis of dynamic respiratory conditions, all while minimizing the potential of cross-infection in doctors and other hospital staff.
