Amin Mobasher, President & CEO, Saina Health
Comprehensive access to personal health records, understanding risk factors and sharing of health data in this new age of COVID-19 and telehealth is more important now than ever. Accessing and sharing medical records by patients is a cumbersome and lengthy process, sometimes takes several weeks, risking the loss of valuable treatment time, and leading to repeat testing. As a result, this has made it very cumbersome for patients to have a simple second opinion from a doctor with full details of their treatments and medications. Sometimes it also involves having medical errors in records and even losing family members and loved ones. Two veterans realized that having a system with easy and secure sharing capability could save lives and reduce secondary problems. They decided to create a platform to provide services for patients with four core healthcare elements: Access & Control, Sharing, Privacy &Security, and Knowledge. As a result, Saina Health was founded in 2018 by Amin Mobasher, Co-Founder, President and CEO, and Jason Bernard Jr., Co-Founder and Chief Partnership & Strategy Officer.
Revolutionary Spectrum of Products & Services
Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, Saina Health was built by a passionate and diverse team of engineers, designers, operation, and growth specialists. The team is unified in a mission to deliver on giving patients true access to their personalized health data to make informed healthcare decisions and better manage their care. Putting patients in charge of their health records is a key piece of giving patients more control in healthcare, and patient control is at the center of Saina Health work toward a value-based healthcare system.
Saina Health is committed to making exceptional care effortless and easier for patients with a suite of digital healthcare solutions to help and accelerate the adoption of virtual care. At the heart of their solutions is a powerful, interactive health data management tool for families called InstaHealth™. It is an easy-to-navigate graphic summary of a patient’s health records collected from all healthcare facilities and allows them to easily track, manage, and share the health of multiple family members in one portal. Patients can easily share their records at their fingertip with any physician for a regular office visit or telemedicine. InstaHealth™ is integrated into the partner’s telehealth platforms for both patients’ and physicians’ security and quality of experience. They just need to select the clinical locations they visited as Saina Health has automated the procedure for collecting and aggregating the medical records in an economical and timely manner. Dr. Lily Wood by a user of InstaHealth™ commented “I am in charge of our family’s well being and healthcare and this is exactly what I have always hoped for to keep track of all our medical information, appointments, and emergencies…”
Focusing on family health, Saina Health also offers a family health monitoring system, socially safe, currently tailored to COVID-19, to document your symptoms daily and check in any place that you or your family members go. This helps to identify potential exposures and is intended to optimize the cost of COVID-19 testing by making sure the affected people are tested quickly and efficiently.
Saina Health offers many upcoming premium services. They enable a seamless second opinion platform, a unique opportunity for patients and their family members, by facilitating health record sharing whether virtually or in person, for primary or specialty visit with partner physicians. “We utilize big data analysis to evaluate, predict, and study patients and possible diseases bridging the gap between increasingly diverse landscapes of care involving patients more in their well-being,” asserts, Mobasher.
By providing access to patient data, Saina Health increases access to care, research, patient-level and population level interventions. Access to comprehensive patient data allows patients to quickly and effectively receive care. Access to comprehensive records by providers allows for more informed decisions per patient or for a patient population. Saina Health will also provides a level of data intelligence to patients and providers for risk assessments and areas for intervention.
A Highly Diverse Team and Partnerships
“We are driven by an intense passion to dramatically change the course of the patient journey. Our frustration with the data-starved status quo and our strong desire to improve human health shapes our unique culture,” asserts, Jason Bernard Jr.
Mobasher believes that empowering both employees and patients is vital for success in the healthcare industry. He goes on to say that the healthcare industry works with arguably the most diverse customer base in the world and healthcare companies must be highly diverse to match and meet the needs of their clientele. The company builds trust with an environment of transparency and frank conversation fostered by shared dignity, honor, and respect.
Saina Health has partnered with telehealth companies like OmniHealth to enable a powerful and interactive health management tool InstaHealth – a new line of cloud-based services for easy and affordable EMR integration into telehealth platforms and make it much easier, more secure, and with much better patient experience. The company has also partnered with a few medical facilities and the University of California, Davis, and including partners at George Mason University and Morgan State University, in a project to develop predictive epidemic models for COVID-19, allowing the researchers to look at community spread and distribution of resources. Their latest partnership is with Connect Well and the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health to develop personalized health content for patients.
“With comprehensive health records in the hands of the patient population, we are in an era that data can be analyzed and aggregated for population health insights, risk determination, and population-level clinical intervention,” concludes Mobasher.
